Teachers

Frau Saskia

Saskia Clark is the teacher at the German Club DKK school program. She is from Berlin, Germany, where she grew up in a bilingual home. She came to Canada in 2010 after living in Scotland and Honk Kong, and started working with DKK in 2019. Saskia raises her own two children bilingually, and has run a German/English day home since 2016. She is very passionate about working with kids, helping them discover their potential, and guiding their first steps to exploring a second language.

Saskia likes to do arts and crafts, and creative play. There is no better way for her to start her day than seeing happy kids and hearing all their exciting stories.

Frau Angelique

Angelique Wolfschmitt is the teaching assistant at the German Club DKK school program since September 2017. She is from Wallduern, a small town in south Germany and came to Edmonton with her family in 2007.

Her daughter is in her fourth year at the U of A, and her son will be in Grade 11 at Strathcona High School. She spends most of her time at the soccer field, watching her son playing competitive soccer in, and outside of Edmonton.

As for hobbies she loves to go camping in the summer and skiing in the winter and loves animals and spending time with her family.

It is so nice to have a German bilingual pre-school option! The teachers are wonderful with the children. The space is neat, clean, and perfect for little people. Both of my kids enjoyed their experience at DKK.

Absolutely incredible program! My husband and I would and have recommend DKK to our friends, family and even strangers! Our daughter has been attending DKK for almost two years and she has had such an enriching experience on so many levels. The teachers are warm and welcoming and provide a safe and supportive learning environment where our daughter feels valued and part of something bigger than herself. Our daughter did not know any German before starting preschool and it is so unbelievable and enjoyable to see and listen to her everyday she comes home and shares what she has learned. The activities and themes the kids learn and do each week/month are well planned and implemented. Our daughter gets really excited each morning when it is time for her to go to preschool. We are so thankful that we chose DKK for our daughter. THANK YOU DKK 🙂

I had both my boys go through this program. The German language portion is fantastic, the teachers are dedicated and kind, and the curriculum hits the spot. 5/5 would recommend. Both my boys made friends with kids in their classes and they loved their time at DKK!

This preschool goes above and beyond to prepare the children for Kindergarten. The field trips have always been my kids favorite and they are doing a terrific job of introducing the German language and culture through songs and games to the little ones. I highly recommend this school for any family with or without German language background.A huge bonus is that they don’t have parent volunteer days but throughout the year have plenty of opportunities for parents to participate if they like to.

My son loved his time at DKK! The teachers are so patient, kind and fun! He fell in love with them. He wasn’t a German speaker when he started but, caught on fast because of the teachers attention and care. He continued on to German bilingual elementary and still has some of the same kids in his class as he did at DKK! I highly recommend DKK!
