Frau Christiane

Christiane Cork is the preschool teacher at the DKK Forest Heights School location. Born and raised in Germany, she studied social pedagogy in the city of Cologne and worked for many years as a youth minister, kindergarten teacher, and daycare supervisor before coming to Canada in 2007. She is a certified Child Development Supervisor who is passionate about supporting the growth and well-being of each child starting from where he or she is.

Married to an Anglo-French Canadian and blessed with two active and inquisitive boys in the German-bilingual program, Christiane understands the challenges and opportunities of raising children with a second language. She strongly believes that children learn best in the context of respectful and responsive relationships. They need space to play and move, try different activities, manage achievable tasks, and figure things out on their own. Mistakes are not failures, but opportunities to learn and grow.

Christiane loves to see her students discover the amazing ways that our minds and bodies work and explore the fascinating world around them with growing independence, creativity and self-confidence. Let’s go!

Frau Nadine

Nadine Hofmann, one of our teaching assistants in the Forest Heights DKK Program comes from Münster a small town in Germany. She came to Canada in 2005. She has been with us since Fall 2016. Prior to joining the DKK teaching team she was a stay at home mom.

Nadine loves to work with children and get to know their personalities. She has 3 kids of her own, 1 attends Forest Heights School.

As for hobbies she loves to go camping in the summer and skiing in the winter and loves animals and spending time with her family.

We can’t say enough incredible things about DKK and their loving teaches. For the past 4 years our kids have attended and the love and care they get is very special. A wonderful bilingual preschool with great values.

My son had a wonderful year at DKK the teachers are exceptional in their dedication and go above and beyond ! Thanks Frau Christiane and Frau Nadine. Lots of fieldtrips and heaps of activities kept it exciting all year long.

Our child loved attending Die Kleine Kinderschule. The educators are engaging and provide a nurturing environment for children to learn and grow. Our child made many new friends and gained confidence speaking and singing in german. We highly recommend.

We are so happy with our decision to send our daughter to DKK at Forest Heights. The teachers are so wonderful and our daughter always tell us they are her favourite part of playschool. She always comes home with cute crafts or activities she’s done and it’s wonderful that the kids get to go outside so much as well. It has been amazing to see not only how much our daughter has learned but how much she has grown as a person during her time so far. We would highly recommend this playschool and can’t wait to send our son when he is old enough.

DKK has been an amazing preschool for our kids. The teachers are so kind and helpful and my kids have loved them and often talk about them still. Our kids have improved their German language skills so much (I’m sure they know more than I do now). I’m so thankful we found this program and for all the hard work the teachers do to make everything fun, interesting and engaging for the kids!
