Die Kleine Kinderschule

Thank you for your interest in Die Kleine Kinderschule (“DKK”).  We are a non-profit organization that have been providing high quality bilingual German-English playschools for over twenty years. 

Children do not need to speak German to attend DKK. The goal of Die Kleine Kinderschule (DKK) is to encourage three and four year-olds to learn both English and German in a warm and stimulating play environment. Children play together, listen to stories, build crafts, sing songs, and count numbers. Children also learn to identify colours, shapes, body parts, animals, and foods in both languages.

It is the view at DKK that a child learns a second language by exposure to it in an interactive setting. The playschool provides exposure to both English and German. It is surprising how quickly one’s child will start to understand and even speak a second language when provided with an enjoyable learning environment. 

Many of our students continue on to the German bilingual kindergarten and grade school system.
